United Nations Association is an international organization that supports the work of the United Nations and encourages active civic participation in the most important social and economic issues facing the world today. Albuquerque Chapter of UNA participates in these goals by educating the local community about the work of the UN through programs such as UN Day, by connecting with global initiatives supported by the UN, and by providing opportunities to influence positive U.S. leadership at the UN. It seeks to promote the concepts expressed in the Charter of the United Nations: to save succeeding generations from the scourge of war; to reaffirm faith in fundamental human rights; to establish conditions under which justice and respect for international law can be maintained; and to promote social progress and better standards of life in larger freedom.
