Village in Casamance, Senegal

Thank you to all who participated in April's fundraiser for Adean at the Friends Meeting house. The Nakigans raised $250 for this rural village in the Casamance, Senegal. Funds went towards providing food for the villagers. It was wonderful to share images of our extended family with all of you and to see the radiant, dancing faces of participants as the evening progressed.

Merci beacoup pour tous votre gÈnÈrositÈ! (Thank you very much for all of your generosity!).

Collection for the Border Migrants, by Ouida Anderson

My husband, a dear friend, and I were just down at the border at Douglas, AZ, and Agua Prieta, Mexico. For one week, we volunteered at the Migrant Resource Center in support of weary deported migrants (you can see Report from the Border in your January issue).

Rather than traveling down there three or four times a year, we have elected to send basic, much-needed supplies to the center every three months. We are now collecting for the July shipment: male socks, hats with brims, aspirin, ibuprofen, male shoes (all sizes, running/sports), new or used, clean and in good condition.

Editor's note: Ouida is a long-time, committed desk volunteer at ACP&J.
